Grayson Charat - Team Captain
I am 13 years old and an eighth grader at R. Roger Rowe Middle School. I am the captain of the Intergalactic Dragons, which means that I work as both a builder and coder by offering advice and help to everyone as they work. I have been doing robotics for three years, this year being my third. I did one year of FLL in 2022-23, and one year of FTC from 2023-24. I was motivated to do FTC as I had a very positive experience on the team last year, and my cousins had participated in FTC in their past, which encouraged me to join the team. Outside of FTC, I enjoy spending my free time reading, playing video games, and running track and field and cross country. I also play the piano and do Dungeons and Dragons with my friends. My favorite part of the FTC team is working with all of my teammates to build and code the robot.
Cyrus Azadeh - Code & Build Team
Hi, I’m Cyrus Azadeh, a 12-year-old attending R. Roger Rowe. Since I was seven years old, I’ve enjoyed robotics and technology making HTML, CSS, SQL, and PHP webpages. Since then, I’ve been evolving my programming skills, while trying out CAD. My role on the team leans towards the Mechanical and Programmatical side (self-proclaimed Director of Mechanical and Programmatic systems), designing parts in Autodesk Fusion and writing Java. In the past, I worked on FLL for two years, before advancing to FTC to continue robotics. My motivation for joining robotics was to learn more about designing functional mechanical parts (Which I’ve improved on). Outside of robotics, I spend the majority of my time brushing up on the latest electrical engineering research papers, sailing, building projects in C++ and Arduino, and running a small K40 C02 laser. Additionally, I worked to design and engineer an analytic management server for our school ASB, which I presented at the larget education technology conference in California (CITE). Aside from engineering, I enjoy cross-country and school soccer. My favorite part about robotics is the opportunity to learn, build, and spend time as a team. I find the engineering process satisfying, which has translated into my love and passion for robotics, manufacturing, and our team.
David Kiss - Code Team
My name is David Kiss and I am in Seventh grade. I have been in R. Roger Rowe since 4th grade and I have started robotics in 5th grade. I have done FLL and have made states in my last year of the two years and this is my first year stepping up into FTC. My role at the Intergalactic Dragons is head of communication and community outreach: handle the social media and the outreach to our school, community, and professionals, I am also part of the coding team working on the autonomous. Outside of school and robotics I am a volleyball player (setter) at Wave. I have a big passion for robotics, Volleyball, animal care, baking and aerospace. I spend some time playing with friends on video games which are fun. I love traveling with my family and I love learning new things from people. I enjoy FTC as it is something I love coding and being able to meet new people. I enjoy the aspect of the fast changing world of technology and hope to imply it in the future.
AJ Salmen - Build Team
I am 12 years old and in 7th grade. I started robotics in 5th grade and have been doing it ever since. In FLL I enjoyed working with Legos to build a robot that can problem solve. In FTC I get to work with more advanced tools and concepts to solve more complex problems, which is closely related to what I want to do in the future, that is becoming an engineer. My current role on the team is builder. Outside of FTC I enjoy sailing, running and playing video games. My favorite part about working with my team is that it makes it very easy to find things to do with the people that I like.
Liam Dinnen - Build Team
My name is Liam. I am 13 years old and in 7th grade. My role on the team is to build the robot, and help coach the drivers. I joined the team because I wanted a new challenge after already doing FLL for two years. In my free time I love to read, play video games with my friends, and fish. My favorite part about working with the team is being able to stand back after we finish something and go “wow!”
Ricky Zhang QinRan - Build Team
I am in 7th grade. My role on the team is builder/driver. I joined FTC so that I can learn to code and build robots. Outside of FTC I enjoy playing video games, reading, and archery. I enjoy teamwork and the ability to problem solve and that’s my favorite part of FTC.
Alex Lash - Build Team
I am in 6th grade. I am a builder on my team. I joined the FTC because I like robotics. Outside of FTC I enjoy golfing. My favorite part about working with my team is building together.
